To overcome your long flight, you will rest at a comfortable hotel in Negombo. Subject to your check in time, enjoy an Ayurveda massage to help sooth away any jetlag.
Overnight in Negombo.
After the breakfast proceed (4 hours drive) to the Sacred city of Anuradhapura (UNESCO World Heritage Site), this ancient capital of Sri Lanka for 1300 years was abandoned in 993. The site with monuments, monasteries and palaces are magnificent.
At a short distance, the stupas, shrines and rock caves of Mihintale Temple are spiritually inspiring, the settings of the Temple are enchanting.
Drive to Sigiriya for an overnight stay.
After breakfast climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site) the citadel built by King Kasyapa. Halfway up the side of the rock a gateway in the form of enormous granite lion paws is the entry of the fortress. The name Sigiriya derives from Sīhāgiri, the Lion Rock.
Visit a typical village, participate in an authentic Sri Lankan cooking experience, enjoy the benefits of your labor by having lunch.
In the afternoon there is available a jeep safari to one of the nearby national parks or just rest at the hotel or enjoy a massage.
Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Leave Sigiriya after breakfast, visit the astounding Dambulla Cave Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The beauty of the 157 statues and mural paintings are remarkable and unique.
Proceed to Gal Oya National Park via the Riverston scenic route and visit Mahiyanganaya Raja Maha Vihara and its stupa.
Overnight stay at Gal Oya.
After breakfast, discover Gal Oya National Park, far away from the crowds of the other National Parks. Enjoy its flora, abundant wildlife and the elephants bathing and swimming in the lake.
You will have the option of a boat safari or a jeep safari early morning or afternoon to observe and enjoy these enormous but still gracious animals. You might go for a picnic lunch on an island or trek to one of Veddhah’s village. The Park is a paradise for bird lovers.
Overnight stay at Gal Oya.
After breakfast depart at your leisure using the scenic 18 bend road route to Kandy (approximately 4.30 hours drive).
In the late afternoon you can visit the Sri Dalada Maligawa “Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic” (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and at 6pm witness the inspiring ceremony of offerings and prayers to Lord Buddha.
Overnight stay in Kandy.
After breakfast visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens one of the finest landscaped botanical gardens in Asia.
Thereafter, visit the site of the Embekke Devalayia, Gadaladeniya Temple or Lankathilake Temple or enjoy ayurveda treatment in a authentic Ayurveda center.
Relax for the afternoon by the pool.
Overnight stay in Kandy.
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya (approximately 3.30 hours drive) en route observe waterfalls, tea plantation-processing factories and many hill country picturesque scenic views.
Relax at the hotel or enjoy walking in the coolness of Nuwara Eliya.
Overnight stay at Nuwera Eliya.
After an early breakfast proceed to Horton Plains National Park, where an easy 9 km roundtrip trek will allow you to visit Worlds End, Bakers Falls and little Worlds End. Take time to observe the diversified fauna and the flora growing on the site.
After Horton Plains leave for Hatton (approximately3.30 hour’s drive). Relax in the afternoon.
Treat yourself to a romantic meal overlooking a beautiful reservoir or mountains.
Stay at a tea plantation bungalow in Hatton.
After breakfast trek through a tea plantation and explore many other trekking trails that will allow you to enjoy the scenic beauty of Hatton or enjoy a boat ride and picnic by the Castlereagh reservoir, catch up on some bird watching.
Alternatively you can ascend Adam’s Peak. The scenery from the top of the mountain is the reward for the effort put into the climb.
In the afternoon treat yourself with afternoon tea and cakes.
Overnight stay in a tea plantation bungalow in Hatton.
After breakfast depart Hatton for Bentota (approximately 4.30 hours drive). On the way you may stop in Kitulgala, visit the prehistoric Belilena caves, thereafter discover a whole raft of water sports, such as water rafting, paddle boarding, abseiling or zip lining and other exciting activities.
Proceed to Bentota, relax in the afternoon. After the drive, you may think of having a beneficial and a soothing massage .
In the late afternoon, watch a romantic sunset on the Indian Ocean from a golden sand beach.
Overnight stay in Bentota.
After breakfast depart to Galle (UNESCO World Heritage Site), take a walk in the town and discover its fort, the old town, light house, National Museum, chic cafes and restaurants. You can spend the whole day in Galle. If you are still energetic, you can chose to visit Rummasala mountain and the Hanuman Monkey God Temple, Japanese Peace Pagoda Temple or chill at Unawathuna beach, soak up the atmosphere, a beach massage, food and drink.
In the afternoon Return to Bentota.
Stay overnight in Bentota.
After breakfast leave for Negombo (3 hours drive).
When reaching Negombo, you can take a boat ride on the river, or experience an ayurvedic massage given by a Doctor in Ayurveda who prepares her own oils and ointments used for the massages or simply relax by the pool or the beach.
A goodbye dinner will be arranged for you. Drinks not included.
Stay overnight in Negombo.
Depending on your departure flight time, enjoy a boat trip on the Hamilton canal or an authentic Sri Lankan cookery class and enjoy what you have help cook. Alternatively, the last chance to top up your tan.
Then leave Negombo to reach the airport 3.5 hrs before your departure time. Drop you off at the airport and end of the tour.

Temple of the tooth (Kandy), Dambulla, Mihintale and other Temples – Wear conservative attire and cover shoulders and legs. Remove shoes & slippers. Socks can be worn.
Dambulla, Mihintale – Before taking any pictures ask permission.
Dambulla/Mihintale/Sigiriya – Beware of uneven stairs. Some climbs can be perceived as challenging.
Buying entry tickets – (Sigiriya/ Mihintale/ Anuradhapura/ Dambulla/ Temple of the Tooth/ Peradeniya ) – Buy tickets from official kiosk/counter before commencing your visit.
Hill Country – (Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Hatton) – Temperatures can get chilly.
Gal Oya Safari – Mosquito and leach repellent recommended. Always follow the tracker or the guides’ instructions. Treks or Safaris are only undertaken with a tracker.
Safety in any water activities or sea – (Kitulgala, Bentota, Negombo). Always follow the service providers instructions and any red flag notification on the beach.
Bentota, Negombo – Vibrant beach towns with lot of restaurants & cafes.
Site guides – All Venues : Test their language skills and knowledge. Fix the price before you proceed. Cost should be circa USD 10.00 or 15.00.
Potable Water – Always carry a bottle of water.
Heat – Keep with you a cap or a hat/scarf.
