Your adventure starts with an adrenalin pumping rapid river sports activities. During this trip you will explore Sri Lankan nature and enjoy different adventure. Beautiful walks in the hill country, splendid scenic views, safaris in 2 major National parks, then to the beautiful southern beaches for whale and dolphin watching (in season) to catch some sun, surfing, water skiing, jet-skiing and spectacular fresh seafood.

Itinerary
Negombo - Kitulgala - Nuwara Eliya - Ella - Uda Walawa - Arugam Bay - Tissamaharama - Mirissa - Bentota - Colombo

Day 1Colombo Airport – Arrival - Negombo

Our representative will be eagerly awaiting you on your arrival into Colombo International airport. Meet at arrivals hall.

To overcome your long flight, you will rest at a comfortable hotel in Negombo.

Day 2Negombo - Kitulgala

After breakfast drive to Kitulgala. Visit prehistoric Belilena caves, thereafter discover a whole raft of water sports, such as water rafting, paddle boarding, abseiling, and other exciting activities including zip lining.

Overnight stay in Kitulgala.

Day 3Kitulgala – Horton Plains - Nuwara Eliya (Little England)

After breakfast depart to Horton Plains for a walk through beautiful scenery to Baker Falls, Little World’s End and World’s End. Take time to observe the wild life and the important endemic flora diversity.

After the trek head to Nuwara Eliya for a relaxing afternoon in the hotel or for a walk in the town.

Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 4Nuwara Eliya – Train Ride - Ella

After breakfast enjoy a trek, part way up to Pidurutalagala mountain (Mount Pedro), thereafter your vehicle will drive you to its summit. On a clear day the views are spectacular.

Subject to availability catch the scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella. Failing which you will be driven to Ella.

When in Ella you will visit 9 Arch Bridge, the Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Gap.

Overnight stay in Ella.

Day 5Ella – Uda Walawa

After breakfast, a brisk trek in Ella to enjoy the panoramic views.

A two hour drive will then take you to Uda Walawa National Park for the 2.30pm afternoon jeep safari. The park is home for herds of elephants and many other wild animals. On the way to Uda Walawa you can visit Ravana waterfalls.

Dinner and overnight stay in Uda Walawa.

Day 6Uda Walawa – Arugam Bay

After breakfast leave Uda Walawa for Arugam Bay, the surfer’s paradise of Sri Lanka (approximately 3 hours). Many water activities are available or you can choose to relax on the beach. Surf and sun, enjoy the beach at Arugam Bay.

Close by, the Kumana National park is the right place for bird watching (water birds and migratory), it’s a natural swamp lake with mangroves.

Day 7Arugam Bay

After breakfast a full day surfing and lazing on the beach. Eat, drink and be happy. Ride the rails! or visit local sites such as Pottuvil Lagoon : Located close to Arugam Bay, the lagoon and its mangroves are home to abundant wildlife. Watch the sunset on the lagoon is a magical moment.

Overnight stay in Arugam Bay.

Day 8Arugam Bay – Yala - Tissamaharama

Leave Arugam bay after breakfast to Yala National Park the largest park in Sri Lanka. Embark on a game Safari to observe local wild life and elephants in their natural habitat.

Overnight stay in Tissamaharama.

Day 9Tissamaharama – Kataragama – Mirissa

After breakfast, a short drive to the sacred city of Kataragama and the Kiriwhera Stupa. On the way to Mirissa a stop to see Matara fort. A 3.30 hour drive to Mirissa, where you can spend the afternoon on the beach and with a cocktail watch the sun slowly setting over the horizon into the Indian Ocean.

Day 10Mirissa

The day is yours to enjoy the beach, pool, sun and fun! A variety of water sports and other activities are available. Or visit the local area.

In season, Mirissa is the right place for whale and dolphin watching.

Day 11Mirissa – Galle – Bentota

After breakfast visit the fortified city of Galle (UNESCO World Heritage Site), it’s Fort, the Museum, the many restaurant and the old city. A most enjoyable interlude. The city reflects the eclectic mix of European architectural styles and South Asian traditions.

On the way to Bentota you can stop at a Turtle hatchery.

Spend the afternoon relaxing on a spectacular beach or by the pool. The choice is yours!

Day 12Bentota - Colombo

After breakfast relax by the beach, have a swim in the sea, sunbath or just laze by the pool.

Alternatively, enjoy a few shorter activities or an excursion before leaving to Colombo.

Over night stay in Colombo and a sumptuous goodbye dinner will be arranged.

Day 13Colombo – Colombo Airport – End of the tour

Depending on your departure flight time leave Colombo to reach the airport 3.30hrs before your departure. Drop you off at the airport and end of the tour.

What to Expect

Kataragama – Wear conservative attire and cover shoulders and legs. Remove shoes & slippers. Socks can be worn.

Hill Country – (Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Ella) – Temperatures can get chilly.

Safety in any water activities or sea – (Kitulgala, Arugam bay, Mirissa, Bentota, Negombo ). Always follow the service providers instructions and any red flag notification on the beach.

Bentota, Mirissa, Arugam bay, Negombo – Vibrant beach towns with lot of restaurants & cafes.

Site guides – All Venues : Test their language skills and knowledge. Fix the price before you proceed. Cost should be circa USD 10.00 or 15.00.

Uda Walawa & Yala – Recommended to take mosquito repellent.

Buying entry tickets – (Uda Walawa / Kumana / Horton Plains) – Buy tickets from official kiosk/counter before commencing your visit.

Potable Water – Always carry a bottle of water.

Heat – Keep with you a cap or a hat/scarf.
