Belihuloya

Belihuloya in Ratnapura District is situated at an elevation of 616 metres above sea level. This hillside location link encompasses both the dry and wet zones, hill and low country. There are many waterfalls in the area such as Pahanthuda Ella, Bambarakanda Ella the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka located approximately 18 kilometres from Belihuloya. The Brampton falls, (6meters high) is located about 10 kilometres from Belihuloya.

Located 9.4 kilometres from Belihuloya, the Samanala Dam is the second-largest hydroelectric scheme in Sri Lanka and generates 405 GWh of energy annually.
